in the beginning of the universe there was only one ghost, the unit ghost, and it was a circle, of course, because everything was a circle then
but every time a new shape is created there needs to be a new ghost for that shape, so the unit ghost splits
now at this point in time, with so many shapes in the universe, there are just tons and tons of ghosts
now ghosts don’t all get along too well, and it’s only getting worse as time goes on
way back near the beginning of time you at least knew all the circular ghosts could get along, but now that there are just so many different variations on the circle, there are subdivisions and subsubdivisions of warring factions
it is where entropy comes from
and it is also a darn shame
whether or not a ghost can be considered optimistic or pessimistic depends on whether they think all the ghosts will be able to get along and reform into the unit ghost someday
of course the thing about ghosts that makes them most different than us is that ghosts have to know everything
for example say you walked up to a person on the street. you can’t know for sure whether they speak english or french or any other language. but you could say ‘hello’ to them and if they spoke english they would understand you
ghosts can’t do that. a ghost can’t speak to someone unless they already know what language the other one speaks. and they can’t understand you unless you know what language to speak to them. if you are unsure they just can’t hear you
ghosts can’t do anything unless they know exactly what they are doing
we don’t have to do that because ghosts take that away from us, they hold it for us
that’s how you can tell that ghosts are nice
